August 25, 2009 - Following the promotion of Todd Burt to company President, Michael Ophield has joined Diba Industries as Vice President, Sales & Marketing.As a member of Diba’s board of directors, Ophield will help shape the company’s strategic plan and guide its continued growth. He will manage the global sales and marketing team for Diba’s line of custom engineered critical fluid handling components and services. In addition, he will personally oversee key invitro diagnostic (IVD), medical and scientific equipment accounts. Diba’s flared tubing assemblies, custom extrusion services, aspirate/dispense probes, and fluid handling accessories are used to ensure consistent fluid processing, free of carryover and dead volume problems.

Ophield has over 20 years of international sales and sales management experience in the scientific and test instrument fields. Most recently, he served as President of Upson LP, a manufacturer of test equipment for the medical device, industrial, and automotive industries. He came to Uson with the acquisition of UK-based Ai Qualitek, where he served as Managing Director. Ophield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science from the University of Sunderland (United Kingdom), as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the Open University (United Kingdom).
