In the multi-use Torque-Right fitting used in the Click-N-Seal™connection, two levers located on the outside body of the threaded fastener have been uniquely designed to deform when pushed against by a protrusion in a custom designed cap. As the fitting is tightened, the resistance of the cap increases until the correct torque is reached; at that point, the cap clicks. The installer can feel and hear the click that indicates the fitting is properly seated, creating a tight seal. This indicator allows the installer to hand tighten the fittings without tools (such as a torque wrench), or guesswork. The ergonomic design also results in less strain on the user and facilitates training. When the desired torque range is achieved, the levers on the Click-NSeal’s™ Torque-Right fitting elastically deflect to prevent the user from continuing to tighten the fitting, which could potentially damage the compressible tubing. Because the levers will deform elastically, with no permanent deformation to any of the pieces, the fitting can be reused. The product is designed so that the cap can be turned backwards without levers deflecting off the protrusions, allowing the fitting to be unthreaded.
